Lara Driscoe is the Managing Director of External Affairs at the Overseas Private Investment Corporation, the U.S. Government’s Development Finance Institution. She is responsible for growing OPIC’s portfolio of investments in projects and private equity funds that promote economic development in emerging and frontier
markets and forging partnerships with large institutional investors. Lara has worked in a variety of roles at the intersection of business and government. Before OPIC, she was the Senior Director of Government Relations at the Managed Funds Association, an industry association representing the global hedge fund industry. She has also served as a senior advisor for several Members of the U.S. House of Representatives on financial services and banking issues.
Previously, she represented multiple large financial services and corporate clients at Delta Strategy Group, a firm specializing in derivatives and financial services regulation and legislation. Prior to Delta, Lara worked in business development at Squire Patton Boggs a full-service global law firm. Lara received her J.D. from the Catholic University of America in Washington D.C. and clerked at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the U.S. Commodities Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
She received her B.A. in Political Science from the University of Maryland.
